I haven’t updated my site in a while. I have been busy, writing new songs and planning for the next trip to Nashville. One of the new songs is called “Song About the James Gang”. I got the idea to the song when I travelled to Whites Creek north of Nashville where Frank and Jesse James in the James Gang once lived. A song I heard about the James Gang inspired me to write the song.
Nice spring weather and time to come back to the open stage at Pustervik. A nice venue and a large crowd had come down to the show.

Since my album From the Basement is soon coming out, I will have a Release show at a small café in Göteborg. It will be at Dirty Records which is a small café and recordstore specializing on vinyl records. Please come it will be better the more people that show up.

I have been working the last 1 1/2 year to write new songs, record and mix a new CD. It is finally finished with 10 new songs. Everything is recorded in my home studio in the basement of my house so the CD got the name From The Basement. I could have called it the basement tapes, but I’m afraid Bob Dylan would sue me 😉 I play guitar, bass, banjo and lap steel on all tracks. My dear wife Kajsa sings harmony on all tracks, she also adds a solo-song on one track. I have sent off the mastered sound files to CDBaby and the CD should hit iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and all the other places in a few weeks. The CD will be download only, but you can buy download cards from me to get your personal copy.

The fall has been pretty warm and it is already time for the last open stage for the year at visans vänner.
They have an open stage every other week during the winter. On the way I stopped by at Musikverkstan on Andra Långgatan to pick up a guitar cable, one of mine was broken. They have everything you need for your guitar.
There are usually a pretty good crowd and they have good sandwiches at a reasonable price.
My wife followed me to the open stage at Pustervik last week. This time I had written a duet so she could join me on stage.
The song was recorded and is now up on youtube, enjoy.
We are back to the open stage at Pustervik tonight. I have written a duet so ny wife can join me this time. She has been singing in choir for many years so she is very good at singing. This is my third open stage this week, it has been my open stage week.
Next weekend will be different. My daughters have suggested that we enter a programming competition at Dreamhack in Jönköping. So we will compete with our programming skills.
The fall is dark in Sweden, not so much to do except going to musical events. Tonight I’m back at the open mic at restaurant Västerhus. I have three new songs, the newest about Country Pop, a music style that is popular on many radio 📻 stations. My wife Kajsa is also going to help me sing one of the songs.
Always interesting to see great musicians. Last week we had a real treat egen Chip Taylor came to town. He played in a small venue with only about 40 people in attendance. So we had a chance to see up close. If you didn’t know, he wrote great hits like Wild Thing and Angel In the Morning. He also has a famous brother who kept the family name – the actor John Voigt
